We have been working with Dr. Antonucci since the summer of 2023. My son, who is 5, has a diagnosis of HIE, gtube dependent (at the moment) and developmental delays. We were told a lot of things that my son would not be able to do because of the brain injury. However, my husband and I refused to accept this gloom and doom and took the situation to the Lord. As we prayed, the Lord continued to bring different professionals to us to assist in Zeke's healing and growth.

We have been working with functional neurologists since 2019, and always saw massive jumps neurologically after a session. In 2023, it became clear to us - and our current functional neurologist - that our son was ready for something more and we were referred to Dr. Antonucci for a consult. From our first interaction with Dr. Antonucci and his team, we felt very much at ease and were treated with the upmost care and respect. Daniel, Dr. Antonucci's assistant, is incredibly patient, organized and helpful.

When we had our consult with Dr. A, and I am pretty sure I cried in the middle of the consult! I cried because Dr. A was one of the first professionals who really SAW my son. He really saw the potential. He saw that my son was operating at an age appropriate level cognitively even though his body was currently operating at a 4 month old level. Dr. A is incredibly intelligent, well read and well known in his field (especially with his work with HIE), yet he spoke to us with kindness and humility. He LISTENED to us. He heard our story and spoke hope over my son's life.

We decided it was wisdom to move forward in working with Dr. A, and we are so glad we did! He recommended taking our son to an intensive PT locally, at a facility that he consults with/in. This has made a MASSIVE difference in my son's physical ability. The combo of Dr. A's expertise with the PT's tools have been an incredible combination in my son's life.

My son had very little head control and trunk control, but now, after 3 go rounds of intensive treatment and working with Dr. A (and lots of prayer!), my son has shown that he is able to hold his head and trunk up and WALK in a gait trainer. Mind blowing.

(1) My son LOVES him. He genuinely enjoys seeing him and smiles even when we mention his name. And my son does not warm to people easily.

(2) Dr. A truly listens to the parent. He converses with you. He does not just make a treatment plan and say "do it." He listens to your goal, your child's goal and then works alongside you step by step to achieve the goals.

(3) He is available. Although he is most likely one of the busiest doctors in his field, he always finds a moment to answer my emails or to have a quick call with me to answer questions.

(4) He genuinely cares about his patients. He remembers details about them and also is willing to work with the treatment team as a whole to achieve the goal set forth by the patient.

Seeing Dr. Antonucci was a turning point in addressing my son’s struggles. Having previously attended the Carrick Institute's Concussion Boot Camp with Dr. Antonucci in Florida, I was confident he could help us. Dr. Antonucci has an exceptional talent for identifying underlying issues and building a foundation for improvement. He revealed layers of dysfunction we hadn’t realized existed and connected many dots from my son’s past symptoms.

My son’s vestibular system was found to be the underlying problem, like many concussions, but Dr. Antonucci was able to bring everything together very quickly, promoting lasting changes. I first met Dr. Antonucci in 2009, when we cooperatively managed one of my more challenging pediatric patients with Asperger’s Syndrome, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and severe depression. Dr. Antonucci’s collaborative nature, as well as his progressive and comprehensive approach intrigued me to learn more about him.  On occasion, I would visit his clinic in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. One time I recall a local neurologist accompanying his patient for an assessment of his severe tremor.  The patient could not hold a glass of water without losing its content raising it to his mouth.  After assessing the individual's brain, in 5 minutes of doing some neurological exercises, he was able to decrease the tremor by 75%. 

In 2015, I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Increased Intracranial Pressure, which required the placement of a brain stent. After the procedure, I developed dizziness and migraine headaches for six months after my brain was ‘fixed”.  I saw multiple neurologists and vestibular physical therapists that were completely vexed by my presentation; everyone said it sounded like a concussion, but had no clue how to help me.  That is when I knew it was time to call Dr. Antonucci. He invited me come to his clinic in Atlanta, at the time.  After a thorough assessment which was never done by ANY of my prior clinicians, he quickly created a plan and started treatment. Four days later (working 3 hrs per day under his care), about 80% of my symptoms had subsided. During my week of treatment, I met a wonderful woman in a wheelchair who traveled from Canada to see Dr. A. She told me that she had seen 61 specialists over 3 years throughout the United States and Canada, including neurologists and physical therapists. On her second day of treatment, she walked into the clinic unassisted for the first time in 3 years. I was utterly speechless.

As a medical physician, I chose to refer challenging patients to Dr. Antonucci because of his incredible understanding of the brain, and impressive outcomes. When my mother and I flew across the country to attend your program, we weren't sure what to expect. As a medical doctor practicing for 25+ years, I've had the privilege of working with some great doctors. However, Dr. Antonucci's breadth and depth of knowledge in neurology are unmatched. I have suffered from post-concussion syndrome for the last 4.5 years. In January, I began to have neurological attacks that mimicked strokes with one-sided weakness, slow, slurred speech, and erratic eye movements accompanied by horrible right-sided head pain, amongst other symptoms. These attacks last 8-12 days and occur every 15-25 days. The daily headache/migraines, nausea, dizziness, brain fog, sensitivity to light/noise, sensory overload and fatigue along with numerous other symptoms have left me unable to work and basically lost my ability to function totally independently. My medical condition has baffled the best and I was losing hope.

All this changed after meeting with Dr. Antonucci and spending 6 days in his immersive program in Minnesota! I am 2.5 weeks out and feel much better! There is no comparison to how I feel today vs how I felt walking into the center. Since leaving, I have not had any additional neuro attacks, headaches/migraines have been tolerable, less intense and less frequent. In general, everything is "toned" way down and much better....noise sensitivity, light sensitivity, sensory overload, equilibrium/balance and walking is much more stable, vision seems clearer and my clarity and brain fog is much better. I have "life" energy that I haven't had in 6+ months! I have had several people who have seen or spoken to me in the last week or so that say that I "sound" so much better...hear glimpses of the real "me"!

Once again, thank you so very much for all of your help. The progress that I make while at your clinic is unparalleled. Today was the first morning in 1,159 days that I woke up without a headache. Honestly, it was a little bit strange, but in the best way! My family and I are so appreciative for all of your help.

We came to Dr. A after six months of searching for answers and relief for our 12 year old daughter. She had suffered from chronic headaches for many years but this past October they escalated to a point where they were no longer manageable and she was remaining in a constant pain cycle. This was obviously greatly impacting her quality of life. She loves to sing and dance and was no longer able to enjoy these simple pleasures and hobbies. She was unable to do school and even basic daily tasks were difficult. Her sleep was affected, her energy level and her outlook. We sought help from many medical professionals and over the course of the 6 months she was hospitalized three times in an effort to bring her relief but each avenue was unsuccessful. Until, Dr. A.

After being connected with Dr. A through a friend we reached out to his team in desperation. From the very first point of contact, they were incredible, and before we knew it, we were on a plane to spend an immersive week with Dr. A. I can't even begin to explain how life-giving this experience was, especially after so many closed doors and such a difficult time advocating for our daughter. Dr. A's patient care was like nothing we had experienced thus far. His attention to detail and his ability to not only communicate clearly but put together so many moving parts were on a totally different level of care. Our daughter quickly began to trust him, and for the first time in 6 months, I watched her dare to hope again. Over the immersive week of treatment, the light in her eyes began to return slowly, and she woke each day looking forward to seeing Dr. A and making more progress. At the beginning of the week, we shared with Dr. A that our desired outcome would be a clear path forward. We gained so much more. Not only did he help provide that for us, but our daughter left her time with Dr. A pain-free for the first time in months, and, since coming home, has only continued to improve. She is smiling, singing, playing with her brother and laughing - she is enjoying being a child again.

To be completely honest, it is still so hard for us to process. After so many months of despair, we have hope, and we can't deny the progress we saw her make with Dr. A. It was more than worth it, and we would do it over again in an instant. As we left Dr. A he hugged her goodbye and said, "don't fear the setbacks, if you fall, I'll catch." As a parent, I don't believe there is a greater pain than watching your child suffer, and yet Dr. A's confident compassion traded our anxieties for peace.

We are convinced there is no one in the world like him and five stars just isn’t enough.

I was referred to Dr. Antonucci by one of his colleagues. At the time, I was experiencing vertigo, which got progressively worse over a few months. It got to the point that I couldn't work and could barely walk without feeling like falling. I knew I had to do something, so I visited Dr. Antonucci for a 5-day intensive program. After the 1st day, my symptoms were reduced 70%. After the 4th day, my symptoms were reduced 95% and I was sent home early with exercises to do at home.

Dr. Antonucci gave me my life back!! Seven years later, I still feel great and am proud to serve with his team as a technology consultant.

We have just returned back from a 5-day immersive treatment with Dr. Antonucci in Minneapolis. The words on the door state: “There is hope”. There is more than hope with Dr. Antonucci. There are miracles.

Dr. Antonucci gave my daughter her life back. She was in pain after her fifth concussion – pain in the head and neck. Constant agonizing pain, everyday for 2 years, 2 months and 11 days. It was hard for her to function. No one could find the root cause of her pain and her many post-concussion symptoms. She was told to live with the pain. No drugs could help the pain. My daughter (13 years old) was unable to attend school for more than 2-3 hours a week. She was dizzy, she could not walk straight, her balance was off and her brain in a fog. Other clinicians stated that she would get better with time because she is a teenager. This did not happen – how could this happen, when no root cause was ever identified. Her symptoms were being treated (unsuccessfully) rather than the root cause.

Dr. Antonucci found the root causes of all her symptoms - and fixed them. If we had not been to see him, then my daughter would have had to live a very hard life with pain, and a brain which was not functioning properly.

Dr. Antonucci is a brilliant functional neurology practitioner. What he did for my daughter was a miracle. When we got off the plane to see Dr. Antonucci, my daughter was using a walker for balance and stability. After 5 days of treatment, the walker was no longer needed. I went home with a smiling teenager and post-care exercises. There are still many things to do – but she is on the road to recovery.

Daniel (Dr. Antonucci’s practice manager) is a tremendous support for Dr. Antonucci. He answered all our questions patiently and kindly and kept us in the loop for the entire process. He provided guidance and very prompt responses, correspondence and reports which we needed.

Before meeting Dr. A, I was struggling with balance issues, motion sickness, and had recently suffered a minor concussion. Fortunately, I didn't experience headaches, but my motion sickness had worsened.

During my first meeting with Dr. A, I felt nervous because I didn't know what to expect. However, Dr. A's welcoming demeanor and respectful, patient approach quickly put me at ease. He takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and is incredibly knowledgeable and meticulous. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy with clinical experience and training in both vestibular rehab and brain injury rehab, I have the ability to recognize when a doctor has something unique to offer.  Physical therapy/vestibular rehab benefits so many patients, but Dr. Antonucci has such a greater understanding of how the brain works that he can take tools and exercises that I am very familiar with, evaluate the brain of a patient, hone in on their dysfunction, and somehow create (what looks like) such a simple plan that gets the job done... extremely well. His knowledge of neurology and their unique and specific application of treatments is the biggest difference between his work and physical therapy/vestibular rehabilitation.

When clients do not respond to vestibular rehab, I refer them to Dr. Antonucci and his team.  I would also be fully confident to say that a patient who has not responded optimally working with a physical (or another type of) therapist, even one experienced in vestibular rehab, would benefit from the comprehensive evaluation, the abundance of technology, the individualized diagnosis, and the unique specificity of their treatment plan.  I can honestly say there is no other provider I would recommend to a client who feels like they have hit a wall and wants to take their health to another level.

Dr. Antonucci is undoubtedly the most knowledgeable and effective clinician that I know regarding concussion rehabilitation and preventative care. He has helped my athletes tremendously during the season and off-season, with passion and attention to detail. Dr. Antonucci was absolutely amazing working with our daughter. We saw great improvements in her Post Concussion Syndrome symptoms almost immediately. Since treatment, she has seen drastic changes in her brain fog, eye sight, sleep habits, reaction time, and headaches. Before treatment, I was, at best, just a shadow of my former self; and at worst, just a memory struggling to survive. But with your help, I am leading a happy, fulfilling life. I still don't know how you did it. My left hand started shaking about 7 years ago. Doctor after doctor just wanted me to try medications.
