SUMMARY:Clinical Applications of the Superior Colliculus in Rehabilitation @ SBMT2024
DESCRIPTION:I am honored to have been re-invited to speak at the Visual Processing Symposium at the Society of Brain Mapping and Therapeutics again this year. Last year\, my topic was "Saccades: The 100ms Brain Assessment\," and this year\, I'd like to expand upon that topic by exploring an old but still clinically uncharted area of the brain that is affected in both traumatic and degenerative brain disorders: the superior colliculus. \nThis year's topic is "Clinical Applications of the Superior Colliculus in Visual\, Cognitive\, Motor\, and Spatial Rehabilitation". This session aims to unravel the multifaceted role of the superior colliculus in visual\, cognitive\, motor\, and spatial rehabilitation. We will explore cutting-edge research and innovative clinical applications\, shedding light on how this small yet mighty brain region orchestrates a symphony of sensory and motor processes. Attendees will gain insights into novel rehabilitation strategies that leverage the superior colliculus's unique capabilities\, potentially transforming practices in neuro-rehabilitation.
